Alaskans Invited to Celebrate First Krispy Kreme

After years of hoping and wishing, Alaska finally IS getting a Krispy Kreme. All are invited to come celebrate, as the first doughnuts come off the line. The new Krispy Kreme is located at Creekside, at the corner of Debarr & Muldoon. Public events include:

Monday, August 29

3 p.m. Krispy Kreme team member will start to take names and give wristbands to the first 100 Alaskans who plan to spend the night and be in line for the store opening. The first 150 people in line will receive a commemorative Krispy Kreme T-shirt. The first person in line will win a card that is good for a free dozen original glazed doughnuts a week for one year. The 2nd through 100th person in line will receive a card good for 1 dozen free original glazed doughnuts per month for a year.

5 to 9 p.m. Block Party in the Parking Lot - Join us for party music with DJ Steve Franklin, a video game truck (20 stations inside, 8 outside), prize wheel, Corn Hole and Jenga games, Balloon Artist Markey D Clown and Magician Don Russell. Get a free sample of BurgerFi custard from our neighbors next door. After 9 p.m., wristbanded guests will be allowed to camp in the parking lot.

Tuesday, August 30

5 a.m. Krispy Kreme doors open

10 a.m. Ribbon Cutting Ceremony with Franchise Owners Jack Lewis, Dick Hobbes and Ray Kizer, introduction of Krispy Kreme Corporate staff and local Alaska staff. Alaska Sound Celebration will sing the Alaska Flag Song and Mayor Ethan Berkowitz will join Krispy Kreme VIPs and Creekside team members to perform the ribbon cutting. Prizes and free doughnut coupons will be given out throughout the day.

Anchorage’s first Krispy Kreme features a drive-through, premium coffee and more than a dozen of Krispy Kreme’s one-of-a-kind doughnuts, including the signature Original Glazed® doughnut loved by fans all over the world. Creekside is owned by Jerry Neeser, Mark Pfeffer and Chignik Lagoon Native Corp. The building project team includes Pfeffer Development, Neeser Construction, KPB Architects, Northrim Bank and Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA). The Krispy Kreme interior space was built by Lake View Contracting and designed by National Restaurant Designers. Krispy Kreme shares the Creekside building with BurgerFi and Body Renew. The project is part of the continued redevelopment of the former 68-acre Alaska Village Trailer Park, which includes Begich Middle School, Grass Creek Village Apartments, Clearwater Village and Creekview Plaza 49.
